The Alliance for Clinical Trials In Oncology News newsletter provides Alliance members with the most current information about the Alliance and its work. Alliance News is a one-stop source for the latest updates on Alliance transition, policies and procedures and other pertinent information. It is published every other Thursday (twice a month), and distributed to Alliance members by broadcast e-mail and through the Alliance website (www.alliance-website.org).

| CALGB Publication Deadlines |
CALGB requires that abstracts reporting on results from CALGB studies being submitted to professional societies for presentation and publication be reviewed prior to submission in the Central Office. Abstracts are customarily due in the Central Office for review two weeks prior to the submission deadline. Abstracts should be e-mailed (in MS Word file) to pubscoord@calgb.org.

| CALGB Publication Presentations |
The 2011 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting will be held June 3-7, 2011, in Chicago, IL.
The deadline for online abstract submission is February 2, 2011. However, the CALGB requires that abstracts reporting on results from CALGB studies being submitted to professional societies for presentation and publication be reviewed prior to submission in the Central Office. Abstracts are customarily due in the Central Office for review two weeks prior to the submission deadline.
If you plan to submit an abstract for ASCO 2011, please forward it to the Central Office for review by Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Abstracts should be e-mailed (in MS Word file) to pubscoord@calgb.org.
Late-breaking ASCO Abstracts
Online submission of late-breaking abstracts is April 1, 2011. If you plan to submit a late-breaking abstract to ASCO, forward it to the Central Office for review by Monday, March 14, 2011. | NIH Public Access Policy |
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Access Policy requires that all investigators funded by the NIH submit, or have submitted for them, an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts resulting from NIH funding to the National Library of Medicine's PubMed Central upon acceptance for publication. These manuscripts will be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official date of publication. This policy covers all CALGB authors.
